Approach and orientation

CBT emphasizes the role thoughts play in the way people feel and their behavior. It is a collaborative approach where the needs of the patient are taken into account and their active and constant participation is fundamental for the development of the therapy.

CBT is goal focused and aims to help children, young people and adults  develop different life skills and coping strategies as well as promoting self-efficacy, independence, self-esteem.

Parents are very important in CBT as they are the main collaborators of the therapy especially with young people and their participation can increase improvement rates.

Is an evidence-based approach that has been proved effective for working with a range of social and emotional difficulties in children, young people, and adults.

A different service to CBT

I use free play and the Reggio Emilia approach which are crucial part of the way I work. These approaches encourage creative expression through the use of non-structured materials. The sessions are based on the child’s unique needs and are run at their own pace, which are useful ways in helping children and young people express what they are going through. They can also be used in Nurseries, Rhyme time and other settings.

“ Educating the mind without an education of the heart is no education at all.”
